CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING
• Rate per word $2.00, with minimum of 10 words. Prepaid only.
• Display classifieds: $75.00 per column inch (column width is 2-1/8"). Can be run in Books, Science, Films, or Marketplace departments.
COMMISION AND CASH DISCOUNT

Agency commission: 15% to recognized advertising agencies. Commission not allowed on mechanical charges.

COPY AND CONTRACT REGULATIONS
•
All advertising is accepted subject to publisher's approval. The publisher reserves the right to reject any advertising which he feels is not in keeping with his publication's standards. Advertiser and advertising agency assume liability for all content of advertisements printed, and also assume responsibility for any claims arising therefrom against the publisher.

Cancellations: No cancellations on inside pages accepted after closing date. Cover positions non-cancellable.
MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS

Trim size: 5-1/4" x 7-5/8" deep.
•
Full page size: 4-1/4" x 6-1/2".
•
1/2-page size: 2-1/8" x 6-1/4" or 4-1/4" x 3-1/8"
•
1/4-page size: 2-1/8" x 3-1/8".
•
Column width: 2-1/8"; double column width is 4-1/4"; two columns per page.
•
Column depth: 6-1/2".
•
Screen: 133 recommended for covers; 100 for text; right reading, emulsion down.
•
Material required: Reproduction proofs, one-shot camera ready artwork acceptable at no additional charge. We now
accept high quality (600 dpi) scans on zip disks or on CDs, but please (a) be sure all necessary fonts are included and
(b) submit a matchprint with the electronic files. Pagemaker 6.0
files preferred for half-page ads and smaller. For full-page ads and covers, Quark files are preferred.
PDF files need to be PDFX1A compliant.
For half-page and quarter-page ads, please supply ad in a single 300-600 dpi TIFF file. We can also accept files
in any version of PageMaker up to 6.0 for Macintosh or PageMaker 6.0 for Windows (but no previous or later Windows
versions). Quark Express versions 3.1 - 3.31 for the Macintosh are also acceptable.
•
Composition: We will set type on a cost plus basis. Please supply repro of halftones or special art and we will strip in.
•
